Ontario, Canada

Greater Toronto Area/Muskoka Lakes

Ontario delivers two distinct golf experiences in one trip. The GTA punches well above its weight — Angus Glen has hosted two Canadian Opens, Osprey Valley offers three acclaimed layouts, and the Caledon countryside is world-class. Head two hours north and Muskoka rewrites the script entirely: granite Shield terrain, towering pines, and resort courses set against some of Canada's most stunning lake country.

The Honest Take

✓ I've played here

I'd probably skip the courses around the city — traffic is brutal and the rounds can be slow. Go up to Muskoka, and either on the way there or on the way back (or both), stop in and play TPC Toronto. I can't recommend that place enough. Once in Muskoka, Muskoka Bay is a must-play.

Some good budget-friendly options are the Ridge at Manitou and Seguin Valley.

Best time to visit: June – October
