Cabot Cape Breton

Cabot Cape Breton is one of those places that doesn't feel real the first time you see it. You're driving through Cape Breton on what starts to feel like the wrong road — a fishing village, the Gulf of St. Lawrence coming into view — and then suddenly, out of nowhere, two of the best golf courses in the world appear along the sea. Cabot Links sits right at water's edge, the only true links course in Canada. Cabot Cliffs climbs above the coastline with views that stop you mid-swing. The seafood is extraordinary, the hospitality is genuine, and the whole thing feels like a secret that got out just enough. A personal favourite of our founder — and once you've been, you'll understand why.

The Honest Take

✓ I've played here

My favorite destination on this whole site, and it's not close. Cabot Links runs right along the Gulf of St. Lawrence — the only true links in Canada — and Cabot Cliffs is the one that stops you mid-swing. It's a haul to get to, the seafood is unreal, and the whole place feels like a secret that barely got out. If you do one trip off this list, make it this one. Make sure you take the drive up the Cabot Trail to Highlands Links and really enjoy the drive — it's among the most scenic in the world.
